The National Commission for Communications Regulation (NCCR) has approved changes to Boundary Tariffs for universal postal services.

According to the project tariff increase will be held in two stages:

1. On October 20, 2011 tariffs for written correspondence are expected to increase by 20%.

2. Since January 1, 2012 – average increase of tariffs for written correspondence by 11.2% and for parcels with non-declared value up to 10 kg in Ukraine by 15%.

Among factors that influenced this decision NCCR notes the increased production costs and the need to implement advanced technologies into the work of communication facilities.

As direct mail is widely used marketing activity of pharmaceutical companies, this event should certainly be considered when drafting marketing budgets for 2012.
