Opening the Second Pharmaceutical Marketing Championship 2013

On April 26th Medical Data Management Company and MIM-Kiev business school officially held the Second Pharmaceutical Marketing Championship. The first meeting of championship participants took place in MIM-Kiev business school.

 Pharmaceutical Marketing Championship aroused huge interest among pharma marketers. Competitive and adventurous spirit has forced about 80 marketers to register for the participation in the championship. A pleasant surprise was the fact that the second championship involved participants from first championship; probably the main prize is worth that struggle and efforts.

At the beginning of the meeting, participants received a case-task from the Harvard library, where they could get information about schedule of the championship and the issues to case.

The meeting was opened by Nadia Vorushilo, inspirer, organizer, judger and the head of the Medical Data Management Company. She gave the detailed information about the competition, its narrow focus and, told about the huge advantages and prospects for the winner of the Championship giving the example of the first championship winner.

Then the judgers presented their welcoming speech. Vladimir Ignatov (head of the "Ipsen" company in Ukraine) gave some practical advice to the participants. Vadim Volkov (representative of the "Omega Pharma" company in Ukraine and Kazakhstan) has given recommendations in the marketing from personal experience and explained the importance of freedom and responsibility while working on a project. Alexandra Sologub (pharmaceutical market Expert), wished the participants not only competing for the prize, but also enjoying the process of reflection doing these presentations, she recommended to show the own understanding of marketing and own marketing ideas in their works. The final presentation was given by Alexei Vinogradov (coorganizator of the Championship and vice president of marketing for the business MIM school), he gave details about first place prize, about the PMD «Marketing” program, and features of the case.

Till May 17th the competitors will study the incoming data and design their marketing plans. Then during next two weeks all works will be assessed. The intrigue is that the judgers do not know whose strategy they assess (each participant receives unique code, and the work will have the name of the code). On May 31st the top five competitors will present their results and final winner will be known.
